The Ambush at Axe Me Again was an attack performed by Adrian Chase against criminal gangs.
Background[]

Renowned Evergreen gangster, Scarapelli, arranged an informal meeting with Ms. Withers at the head of Axe Me Again, seeking to forge an alliance between criminal gangs. Vigilante discovered this and planned to attack the criminal gangs by stealing axes from the complex. Once they met, Scarapelli was escorted by his henchmen, where he explained to Withers that he had chosen the location due to the implied violence and the tension of both being on the streets.[1]
Ambush[]
Vigilante breaks into gang meeting
- "The guy with the guns is named Saber and the guy with the swords is named Cannon?!"

Suddenly, Vigilante interrupted the meeting by throwing one of his axes at a henchman, killing him instantly, which made him appreciate the weapon. Vigilante continued killing henchmen by slashing their faces with his axe, which pleased him, prompting Withers to order her guard, Saber, to kill him, while Scarapelli did the same to Cannon. As he lunged at Vigilante, Saber asked his rival, Cannon, to move out of his way, but he mocked his appearance.
Vigilante saw Saber and Cannon approaching him, so he grabbed his axes and fought them hand-to-hand, dodging Cannon's sai, then grabbed Saber's arm, causing him to accidentally shoot Cannon, and with his enemies weakened, Vigilante crushed their heads, knocking them to the ground. Vigilante then kicked a henchman in the head, stunning his onlooking enemies. They gave the order to retreat and lowered their weapons. Chase, confused, desperately asked the dying henchman what the gangs were planning, and with his last breath, he only managed to utter "Con" before dying.[1]
Aftermath[]
Vigilante is told by Peacemaker that the Controller kidnapped him

Vigilante ran away, not understanding what he meant. Overnight, Chase arrived at Chris Smith's Trailer to hang out, but discovered he was gone and called him worriedly, believing he was in danger. Smith pretended to be in distress, and Chase asked if Withers' meeting with Scarapelli meant they were planning their next move against him, so Smith lied, saying they were. Smith also confirmed that there was a mastermind behind the kidnapping, so connecting the "Con" tip the henchman had given him, Chase identified the Controller as the one responsible.
Smith played along with Chase and told him that the Controller had an entire army of evil robots in disguise, before abruptly ending the call. Chase, concerned for his friend's safety, infiltrated the Withering Heights Nursing Home, where he ripped off a guard's face in search of the Controller.[1]
