"I want you to know I'm not going to kill you because you're going to cause World War III. And I'm not doing it to save the world. I mean, after all, what has this ball of dirt ever done for me? No. Ilana, I'm killing you because you took the life of the only friend I have. And the only one of us with an ounce of kindness in her veins."

The Assassination of Ilana Rostovic was the successful assassination of Princess Ilana Rostovic carried out by the Bride of Frankenstein in order to prevent the conquest of Earth and avenge Nina Mazursky.

Background[]

"You said I wasn't a monster."
"I was lying 'cause I'm a bitch. You're the biggest freak of us all."

After infiltrating inside Poko Castle, the Creature Commandos hid behind the trees watching the guards surround the lake to protect Princess Ilana Rostovic who was swimming. Bride asked Nina Mazursky to enter the pond and stab her, as the only way to get there was underwater. While she initially rejected the idea, both Bride and Doctor Phosphorus convinced her that she was a monster like them, which gave her the courage to complete the mission. Meanwhile, Amanda Waller found enough evidence to assume Circe had lied to them, calling the Pokolistan Embassy to apologize.

Nina dove into the pond with knife in hand, but as she was about to ambush the princess, Weasel suffered a PSTD attack and alerted her, allowing the princess to snatch the knife and kill her, leaving Bride in shock, until Sergei handed her a communicator, as Amanda Waller wanted to warn her that she had made a mistake and the mission had been aborted, she destroyed the communicator in anger.

Despite the mission's ending, Bride pieced together the case and realized that Circe's vision was true and that Ilana Rostovic was indeed a power-hungry individual intent on world conquest.[3]

"You were who Circe said you were all along. A power mad, sadistic, narcissistic, Disney princess who wants to destroy the world."

Ilana Rostovic met the Bride in the hallway and ushered her into her office, explaining that she understood why they tried to kill her, trying to make her believe Circe had tricked them. Rostovic also claimed not to hold a grudge and that Circe was probably the one who wanted to destroy the world, but the Bride confessed she didn't believe Circe was lying, which frightened Rostovic, who pretended to take it as a joke, opening a drawer under his desk to take out his hidden flintlock pistol while pretending to look at some papers.

Rostovic asked the Bride what she was talking about, prompting her to recall seeing Clayface on the security tapes, which unsettled Rostovic and caused her to assume a more serious demeanor. After the Bride revealed that she had devised her plan to seduce Rick Flag, Sr. and hire Clayface to discredit the validity of Circe's premonition. Rostovic told her that none of it made sense, but the Bride described her like Circe did: a power-hungry, sadistic, and narcissistic person who wanted to start World War III.

However, the Bride revealed to Rostovic that she would kill not to save the world, but to avenge her friend Nina Mazursky, who was the only one among them with a shred of kindness. With her plans exposed, Rostovic attempted to use her hidden pistol to kill her, but the Bride shot her first, in the forehead, killing her instantly, which avenged Nina and prevented the dystopian future. Bride returned to her teammates and asked them to leave quickly. When a man tried to question them, Bride pushed him away, and the trio left the castle.[3]

"I know Waller has a reputation as hard ass, but I think she knows how to express gratitude when it's deserved. And you really saved the day, so we converted one of the abandoned wings for you and your team."
John Economos and the Bride of Frankenstein[src]

Due to Bride's performance in preventing a disaster, Amanda Waller ordered a new lineup of Creature Commandos, helping select team members and coordinating missions, along with reshaping the non-human division, much to the team's gratitude. As the Bride was taken back to Belle Reve's non-human division, Economos showed her a remodeled division and her new team lineup, including Doctor Phosphorus, Nosferata, Khalis, Weasel, G.I. Robot, and King Shark, which Bride agreed to lead.[3]
