In World War II, Horace Canfield enlisted in the United States Army, and was placed in Easy Company, under the leadership of Sergeant Franklin Rock, where he began to be nicknamed "Bulldozer." In 1943, Bulldozer and company were investigating in a forest, accompanied by the G.I. Robot, whom they nicknamed "Tin Man," however, Little Sure Shot alerted them to the presence of Nazis, so they quickly took cover and began to fight back, shooting at the Nazis until G.I. used his skills to slaughter all of the Nazis, saving his comrades, who were impressed.

The team stopped to take celebratory photos with the robot, having fun by playing instruments with it. Bulldozer and the Company then headed to a bar to celebrate, where Little Sure Shot praised G.I. Robot for saving the day, but Bulldozer interrupted him to say he didn't care he was made of metal, stating that he will always be a brother to the Company, shouting in front of everyone to cheer for him, to which the rest of his teammates joined, making G.I. happy. In the next few missions, Bulldozer and the Company formed a friendly bond with G.I. before the culmination of the war, going their separate ways.[1]
