Clayface is an upcoming superhero horror film based on the DC Comics villain of the same name. It will be the third film in the DC Universe, and the seventh installment of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. The film is set to be released on September 11, 2026.

Synopsis[]

A Hollywood horror tale centering on a B-movie actor who injects himself with a substance to keep himself relevant, only to find out that he can reshape his face and form, becoming a walking piece of clay.[1]

On December 12, 2024, Deadline reported that Mike Flanagan was set to write a film based on Clayface.[5] The next day, James Gunn confirmed the film has been greenlit and would be part of the DCU.[6]

On February 21, 2025, The Hollywood Reporter reported that James Watkins will direct the film.[1]
