Searched by Vigilante[]

"Controller! I'm killing your army in the womb! Give me back Peacemaker!"
Vigilante[src]

Vigilante ambushed a meeting between criminal gangs, asking a henchman he attacked what the gangs were planning, but he only managed to utter “Con”. Overnight, Chase arrived at Chris Smith's Trailer to hang out, but discovered he was gone and called him worriedly, Smith pretended to be in distress, suggesting that there was a mastermind behind the kidnapping, Chase connected the "Con" tip and identified the Controller as the one responsible, before Smith abruptly ended the call.

As a result, Vigilante began his search for the Controller to rescue Peacemaker, attacking the Withering Heights Nursing Home, ripping off a guard's face, vowing to find the Controller's robot army in Evergreen.[1] Chase later searched for clues to find the Controller, and overhearing a talk about a giving away of free vehicles, he came to the conclusion that the Converticons were tricking them into using their forms to infiltrate among them. Chase arrived with a rocket launcher and stormed the facility to wipe out what he believed was the Controller's army, but ended up being stabbed by Cannon, forcing him to escape and making him believe that the stab infection was turning him into a Converticon.[2]

When Adrian Chase was informed by Theresa about Scarapelli's large Fennel Fields catering event, he believed it to be the next step in the Controller's plan to turn influential people into cyborgs, even thinking that Theresa found him attractive for being a machine. Vigilante then blindsided Scarapelli again, claiming to the investors that he was working for the Controller to turn them into machines. Withers confronted Vigilante and took the opportunity to ask him who had misled him about the Controller, pushing him against an x-ray booth to make him realize that they were not robots, destroying his assumption that the Controller was behind it all.[3]
