- "This is your new task force, Flag. Lets call it Task Force M. M for monster. Also known as... Creature Commandos."
- ―Amanda Waller to Rick Flag, Sr.[src]
Task Force Monster, abbreviated as Task Force M, colloquially known as the Creature Commandos, is a specialized military unit assembled and managed by Amanda Waller. Task Force M replaced the former Task Force X and consists of monstrous prisoners with unique abilities, operating under the leadership of General Rick Flag, Sr.

Task Force X Dissolved[]
- "I thought Congress put a stop to all Task Force X activities since your daughter outed you."
"Technically, Congress said A.R.G.U.S. can't use incarcerated human beings as mission operatives any longer." - ―Rick Flag, Sr. and Amanda Waller[src]
Following Leota Adebayo’s public exposure of Amanda Waller for enlisting human prisoners in Task Force X, the United States Congress ceased all operations related to the team. Two years later, in response to Circe’s attack on Pokolistan, Waller approached General Rick Flag, Sr. to lead a new team of prisoners. When Flag questioned how she was permitted to assemble another unit, Waller explained that, unlike the previous team of human inmates, this new initiative involved non-human captives, thereby bypassing congressional restrictions.[2]

Trivia[]
- In the comics, the Creature Commandos are a special military unit under Project M composed of supernatural monsters, recruited by the US army to carry on black-ops missions against Nazis, mostly in occupied France. The original team is composed of: Sgt. Vincent Velcro (a vampire), Warren Griffith (a werewolf), Pvt. Elliot "Lucky" Taylor (a Frankenstein monster), and, later, Dr. Myrna Rhodes (a Gorgon). They are led on the field by Lt. Matthew Shrieve. Through their adventures, the team is occasionally joined by G.I. Robot.
Behind the Scenes[]
- Whilst designing the characters for Creature Commandos, the potential future live-action appearances of the characters were taken into consideration.[1]
- According to James Gunn, at one point Nosferata was in consideration to be a member of the team.[9]
