- The Bride can be seen reading an issue of Young Love, which is actually a real romance-themed comic book series published by Prize Publications from 1949 to 1956. A second volume, picking up numbering from Prize's All for Love, ran from 1960 to 1963 before being acquired by DC Comics.
References to the DC Universe[]

- Amanda Waller makes reference to Project Starfish, the black ops assignment carried out on Corto Maltese by Task Force X during the events of The Suicide Squad.
- Both Waller and Rick Flag, Sr. acknowledge the death of the latter's son Rick Flag, Jr., who was betrayed and killed by former Task Force X member Christopher Smith/Peacemaker during Project Starfish, in The Suicide Squad
- When introducing Weasel to Rick Flag Sr., Waller remarks on how their unexpected survival during the Corto Maltese operation made him a suitable candidate for the Creature Commandos. In The Suicide Squad, Weasel was revealed during the ending, to be one of the only members from the first unit of Task Force X operatives, to survive the initial infiltration of Corto Maltese depicted at the beginning of the film.
- Waller and Flag establish that the United States Congress dissolved Task Force X and prohibited the former from using any more human inmates at Belle Reve Correctional Center for A.R.G.U.S. operations, after Waller's daughter Leota Adebayo exposed her involvement in the unit's activities, as depicted in the Peacemaker season one finale, "It's Cow or Never."
- Belle Reve Correctional Center looks exactly the same as it did in The Suicide Squad.
- This is because James Gunn wanted the locations in animation to look exactly like their live-action counterparts.[3]
- When Elizabeth Bates asks John Economos what happened to his leg, he tells her that he was fighting off an alien invasion. In the first season of Peacemaker, Economos and the 11th Street Kids fought agaisnt the Butterflies, a species of deadly parasitic aliens with the appearance of butterflies. In the season finale, Economos ended up with a broken leg after trying to jump a wooden fence.
- King Shark appears in the ending of the season finale A Very Funny Monster, having been relocated to Belle Reve's Non-Human Internment Division and suggested for a new incarnation of Task Force M led by the Bride. Nanaue previously appeared in The Suicide Squad as a member of the second incarnation of Task Force X who was led by Rick Flag Jr. during Project Starfish on Corto Maltese.
