Creature Commandos is an American adult animated superhero web television series based on the DC Comics antihero team of the same name. It is the first television series as well as the first animated series in the DC Universe. The series is produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation and released streaming on HBO Max.
The first season is a spin-off of The Suicide Squad, a follow-up to the first season of Peacemaker and the first installment of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. It premiered on December 5, 2024 and concluded on January 9, 2025.
The second season was announced to be in development on December 23, 2024.[1]

On January 31, 2023, James Gunn announced an animated series centered on the Creature Commandos superhero team, as part of the projects of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters in the DC Universe, also confirming that the series would contain 7 episodes.[2]
On April 12, 2023, the voice cast for the series was announced which James Gunn confirmed on his Twitter account.[3]
On November 2, 2023, Bobbypills Animation, who worked on the series, announced that the series would air in 2025. It also confirmed that the series would run with 7 episodes.[4] On November 4, 2023, James Gunn clarified that this was not true.[5]
On September 5, 2024, James Gunn revealed on social media that the series would premiere on December 5, 2024.[6]
On December 23, 2024, it was reported that the series had been renewed for a second season.[1]
