DC Studios will never confirm the exact date of each event portrayed in the various films, television episodes, comics, books, and games in the DC Universe, therefore it's impossible to write a 100% accurate timeline.

In order to represent the most accurate timeline, some of the dates are calculated given their position relative to dates that have been confirmed, taking into account the different temporal references, the passage of time both on-screen and off-screen, etc. Therefore, a certain degree of conjecture is used to write the various dates as logically as possible to the events seen on screen.

This policy applies exclusively to the Timeline pages, and the unconfirmed dates cannot be added to other pages unless an official confirmation from DC Studios or James Gunn.

To discuss the Timeline, you must have joined the Discord server, which has a Timeline channel, where editors discuss where to place the dates of each media, before adding them to the pages, taking into account the considerations below.

Formatting[]

  • Years
    • Months
      • Days
  • Events should be written in present tense and from an in-universe perspective, and in detail if possible.
  • Every event list should reference the project in which is despicted, accompanied by another reference explaining why the date chosen, either by calculations or because it is an official date.

Choosing the Date[]

  • If an official date is provided (such as a date on a cell phone screen), that date takes precedence over other sources, except if the date doesn't match events provided in other official sources of equal importance (movies or television series).
  • If there is no official date, many movies and series are considered to be set in "present day", so the events portrayed in a movie or series may be assumed to begin on the day the movie was released in the United States.
  • If no specific dates are provided, a calculation is made based on an official date and references to the passage of time off-screen.
  • Occasionally the DC Universe alludes to events that happened in the real world, and it is assumed that they occurred on the same dates in-universe.
  • In the case of songs, only those that were played in-universe should be added.
  • If a later project provides an official date that contradicts the calculations made on the wiki, the affected dates will need to be recalculated.
  • If a later project provides an official date that contradicts another official date, the date from the most recent project will take more relevance, and the affected dates will need to be recalculated.
