From its inception, the newspaper was widely recognized in Metropolis for its embodiment of truth and justice. The Planet not only pursued big stories, but also covered the human angle, highlighting tales of resilience, compassion, and hope, unafraid to publish the truth, even when it meant facing retribution.[1] The Planet became a symbol of Metropolis's history, with its globe being featured on the city's flag.[2]
