Trivia[]
- In the comics, Doctor Phosphorus is a radioactive super-villain who fights Batman. After an explosion, his body chemistry was fundamentally altered to phosphorus so that his skin would permanently burn in an eternal flame. There is also two Batman villains with similar powers; Phosphorus Rex and Blight.
- In his initial promotional image, his skin was orange and his eyes were visible. The final version ended up with bright green skin and no visible eyes.
- Rick Flag, Sr. refers to him as "Jason and the Argonauts", likely a reference to the 1963 film where several animated skeletons were fought during the climax.
Behind the Scenes[]
- The animators considered morphing the character's skeleton to show expressions, but they eventually decided that his lack of expressions suited the character. They also incorporated the Kirby Krackle effect into his flaming skin.[4][5]
