Doctor Phosphorus's Gang was a group of henchmen who followed the orders of Doctor Phosphorus after he took over Rupert Thorne's Gang and empire. The gang disbanded after Phosphorus was taken into custody by Batman.
History[]
New Leader[]
After Alex Sartorius was transformed into Doctor Phosphorus, he murdered Rupert Thorne and his men, using his terrifying powers to seize control of Thorne's criminal empire. Intimidating Thorne’s former henchmen, he recruited them as his own, solidifying his authority. Under Phosphorus's leadership, the gang adopted fluorescent makeup inspired by their new boss and expanded their criminal activities, including ambushes, assassinations, blackmail, and gunning down rivals. Acting as loyal cronies and bodyguards, they accompanied Phosphorus everywhere, including to the Ice Lounge nightclub, where they often danced with him on the main floor.[1]
The gang's activities eventually caught the attention of Gotham's masked vigilante: Batman.
Disbanded[]
One night at the Ice Lounge, while dancing with their leader on the main floor, the light suddenly switched off and Phosphorus noticed that Batman had followed him there and it was observing him from above. What happened in the following confrontation is unknown, but Batman could defeat Phosphorus and arrest him. With him arrested it's presumed that his criminal empire collapsed, and his gang were arrested and disbanded.[1]
