Doctor Phosphorus discovers the pain of the Nano-Bombs
Doctor Phosphorus, along with several other prisoners in the non-human division at Belle Reve Correctional Center, had Nano-Bombs implanted with him as he and the others were recruited to Task Force M and given the mission to go to Pokolistan and protect Princess Ilana Rostovic and from Circe and her invading Sons of Themyscira. Phosphorus sarcastically expressed enthusiasm to be going along and went with the team as they settled in at Poko Castle.
Doctor Phosphorus plans to steal the Nano-Bomb Remote Detonator
That night, Doctor Phosphorus was sent to a bedroom and looked at his radioactive hand, deciding to use it in an attempt to fight Rick Flag, Sr. in the event he failed to steal the Nano-Bomb Remote Detonator before Flag woke up.[1]

Doctor Phosphorus snuck into Rick Flag, Sr.'s room and searched for the Nano-Bomb Remote Detonator while Flag slept. He found the detonator, but turned around to see that he had woken Flag, who was now standing over him. Flag kicked Phosphorus back, making Phosphorus drop the detonator. They rushed toward the detonator, but Phosphorus charged his hand to attack. Flag dodged, causing the bed to catch fire, and reached for the detonator. Phosphorus attacked Flag multiple times, causing the fire to spread through the room.
Rick Flag, Sr. hits Doctor Phosphorus' head into a counter
Flag briefly tried to put the fire out, but Phosphorus attacked again, which Flag dodged. Flag punched Phosphorus in the face, causing him to burn his hand. Phosphorus jumped at Flag and set the floor on fire. The floor gave way, and the two men fell into the Poko Castle kitchen, seeing that the detonator fell as well and had landed in a teacup. Flag reached for it, but Phosphorus grabbed his wrist, burning it. Flag kicked Phosphorus back and hit him with a frying pan. Flag then took the detonator, but Phosphorus hit him with another blast of radiation, making him drop it again. Flag put on an oven mitt and used it to jump at Phosphorus, repeatedly hitting his head into the counter.
Doctor Phosphorus listens to Rick Flag, Sr.'s scolding
Phosphorus threw hot water into Flag's face and pushed him back. Flag got the better of Phosphorus and pushed him further back, placing the detonator between them. Both men ran for it, but Flag pushed Phosphorus back and took the detonator, preparing to shock him with it. However, Ilana Rostovic appeared, causing Flag to show restraint and scold Phosphorus instead. He reminded Phosphorus that they were meant to be on the same team.[1]

Doctor Phosphorus tries to help Rick Flag, Sr.

Ilana Rostovic took Rick Flag, Sr. into the bathroom to tend to his wounds. Doctor Phosphorus, G.I. Robot, and Weasel watched, but stopped as Flag threatened them with the Nano-Bomb Remote Detonator. While tending to Flag's wounds, Rostovic began flirting with Flag, and the two began having sex together. Wanting to help Flag, Phosphorus delayed Alexi's report that Bride of Frankenstein and Nina Mazursky had left Poko Castle, asking him to wait until they were done. This led to Flag not learning about the escape until after Bride and Mazursky were attacked. The rest of the Creature Commandos, including Flag, rushed to help them,[3] but found upon arriving that it had been a distraction so the Sons of Themyscira could attack the castle. The Commandos then rushed back and apprehended the Sons' leader, Circe.[4]
