The Fortress of Solitude is Superman's main base of operations and where he travels to reconnect with his Kryptonian heritage.

The primary entrance to the fortress features a voice activated sliding door, which only members of the House of El, including pets like Krypto the Superdog, can gain access. The entrance hall has walls composed of Sunstone, as well as Earth-based stone walls. There is a door to the left of the entrance, upon entering, which leads to an unknown room. The larger hall moving further into the fortress, possesses a number of advanced machinery, including medical technology. There is also an advanced solarium, which consists of the sunstone ceiling opening up and allowing for large magnification glasses to be used as a way to concentrate solar energy into beings that are powered by the sun to either recharge or heal.

- In the comics, the Fortress of Solitude has been located in various regions around the world, including the Arctic, the Andes, the Amazon rainforest, the Bermuda Triangle, and a mountain on the outskirts of Metropolis.
Behind the Scenes[]
- The Fortress of Solitude's appearance in Superman will be the first live action film appearance of the iconic location since Superman Returns.
- A version of the location was featured in the DC Extended Universe, only instead of being an actual fortress, it was a Kryptonian spaceship called Scout Ship 0344.
