- "Chris, listen to me. Every time someone around you dies, it's because you're not listening to yourself! Your father told you to fight your brother. You did. Waller told you to kill Rick and you did. And you knew you shouldn't have gone to that other world! Don't tell me you thought, in your heart, that was the right thing to do. But when you are truly who you are, Chris Smith, what happens? Chris, what happens, man?"
"Nothing."
"You touch people, man. I believe in miracles because of you. I saw an eagle hug a human. I know who I am because of you. And... when I'm around you... I feel loved. You're big and you're stupid, but I know you love me. And I don't think I can say that about anybody else in this world." - ―Leota Adebayo and Chris Smith
Full Nelson is the eighth and final episode of the second season of Peacemaker. The episode was written and directed by James Gunn, and released on HBO Max on October 9, 2025.
Synopsis[]
As Flag puts everyone around him in increasing danger, the 11th Street Kids must convince Peacemaker that he's one of them.
Plot[]
Chris Smith kisses Emilia Harcourt
On May 22, 2025, one month ago, Chris Smith and Emilia Harcourt hang out at Big Belly Burger in Evergreen, Washington, where they drink up shots while bonding. Smith's affinity toward Harcourt grows stronger in comparison, however. Exiting the burger joint, Smith apprehending a catcaller harassing Harcourt to keep the mood light, the latter notices the entrance to a music cruise headlined by the hard rock duo Nelson. He drags a reluctant Harcourt aboard. As the band performs "To Get Back to You," the two are swept up in the atmosphere and share a kiss. Harcourt, startled by her own feelings, hurriedly walks away — leaving Smith disheartened.
Harcourt, Fleury and Kline explore Candy Land
In the present, Smith has been arrested by A.R.G.U.S. on account of owning the dimensional portal known as the Quantum Unfolding Chamber. Informed that his friends, the 11th Street Kids, wish to visit him, Smith declines. Meanwhile, Harcourt rejoins A.R.G.U.S. under Director Rick Flag, Sr., who has partnered with the detained Lex Luthor and his team of engineers to locate a habitable dimension within the QUC. Their goal: a world with breathable air and sustainable resources. Operating from the LuthorCorp communications hub, Flag, Sr. dispatches a squad — consisting of Harcourt, Kline, Langston Fleury, Judomaster, and Angler — to explore new dimensions. They enter a world with plantlife resembling candy, but the squad retreats when a flock of Imps violently attack them and kill Kline. Agent Sasha Bordeaux raises her concerns.
Leota Adebayo talks with Adrian Chase
At his house, John Economos, in charge of monitoring the exploration team's status, voices his unease with Flag, Sr.'s aim to Harcourt while searching for Eagly, who has entered a depressive state since Smith's arrest. When Harcourt repeats Flag, Sr.'s supposed objective, Economos skeptically asks when A.R.G.U.S. has ever acted for the good of the people. Meanwhile, Leota Adebayo visits Adrian Chase in an attempt to convince him to use his hoarded criminal funds and bail Smith out of the Evergreen Corrections Center. Refusing to at first, Chase is advised to take something bad and make something good out of it.
While Economos tends to Eagly, Smith stops by to retrieve his companion and flee town. The 11th Street Kids later gather at Harcourt's apartment to discuss Smith's whereabouts. Harcourt returns to work, continuing her exploration of the QUC as her team suffers mounting casualties from hostile universes — zombie apocalypses, gravitational voids, and wastelands under fire. At last, they discover a vast, habitable field world meeting all of Flag's criteria. When Harcourt delivers the report, Flag, Sr. celebrates the breakthrough but refuses to explain its purpose. Before leaving, Harcourt exchanges a worried glance with Bordeaux.
Rick Flag, Sr. introduces Salvation to the Department of Defense
At the Pentagon, Flag, Sr. and Luthor's team present the recently discovered world to Secretary of Defense General Stephen Mori. Codenamed "Salvation," the planet is proposed to serve as an etenral prison for convicted metahumans. Mori suggests surrounding the planet with a "vaporizing barrier" and notes the irony of Flag, Sr. employing Luthor's expertise after condemning his actions during the Boravian-Jarhanpurian War. Flag justifies it as using evil to "make the world a better place."
Keeya and Leota Adebayo decide to part ways
With the pitch approved, Bordeaux — a metahuman herself — meets with Harcourt at Big Belly Burger and fills her in on the details, no longer wanting to take part in Flag, Sr.'s plot. Harcourt introduces her to Adebayo, hoping their shared conscience can inspire change. The next morning, Adebayo meets with ex-wife Keeya to tell her that her failing security consulting firm is taking a new turn, but more importantly to settle things and cut ties. In the communications hub, Economos distracts the team with poorly constructed jokes while Bordeaux and Harcourt locate Smith.
The 11th Street Kids regroup with Chris Smith
The 11th Street Kids gather at the motel Smith was hiding in, Chase apprehending him with a taser. Inside, Smith confides in his friends that he is seemingly cursed, noting that the blood of his brother, his father, their alternate counterparts, his alternate self, and his teammate all lie on his hands. But Adebayo makes it clear to Smith that all these deaths were caused because he was not listening to himself; when he does, he inspires the people around them and raises their spirits, igniting Adebayo's urge to give back to the world, a tight friendship with Chase, Economos' bravery despite his cowardice, and an unbreakable bond with Harcourt. The group invites Smith to join a new mission, one free of corrupt superiors, focused solely on doing good.
The 11th Street Kids form Checkmate with Bordeaux, Fleury, and Judomaster
As the group departs, Smith quickly asks Harcourt for the last time if their kiss on the cruise meant anything to her. She admits that it did. Relieved, Smith celebrates, his mind finally at peace. Within the next week, amidst Smith and Harcourt's attendance of a Foxy Shazam concert held on the same boat, the 11th Street Kids use Chase's recovered blood money to establish Checkmate, a covert agency dedicated to "making the world better," with Bordeaux, Fleury, and Judomaster on board. As they set up, Fleury quizzes Chase on spider facts, most of which Chase was surprised not to know the answer to. Economos continues to care for Eagly, who miraculously pats him on the shoulder.
Chris Smith is trapped on Salvation
But their triumph is short-lived. That night, Smith is kidnapped by A.R.G.U.S. and transported to Salvation. He learns that his signature has been used to falsify his volunteering as a test subject to inhabit the new world. Flag, Sr. smiles in satisfaction as the portal closes, having exacted long-awaited revenge for his son Rick Flag, Jr.'s death. Alone and terrified, Smith scans the alien landscape as the cries of unseen wildlife echo across Salvation.
