James Francis Gunn Jr. (born August 5, 1966) is an American filmmaker, actor, novelist, and musician. He is also currently serving as co-chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran since November 2022.
He directed Superman, the Peacemaker episodes The Ties That Grind, Ignorance Is Chris and Full Nelson, and will direct Man of Tomorrow.
He created Creature Commandos and Peacemaker.
He wrote the first season of Creature Commandos, Superman, the second season of Peacemaker, and Man of Tomorrow.
He produced Superman and will produce Supergirl, Clayface, Man of Tomorrow, Wonder Woman, The Authority, The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing, Teen Titans and Sgt. Rock.
He was an executive producer on Creature Commandos, Peacemaker and Krypto Saves the Day! and will be an executive producer on Lanterns, Waller, Paradise Lost, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, DC Crime and Mister Miracle[1]
He provided the on-set motion capture for Eagly in the opening dance sequence for Peacemaker Season Two.
He also served as a story consultant for Peacemaker Presents: The Vigilante/Eagly Double-Feature.[2]
He was interviewed for the documentary Adventures in the Making of Superman.
