Biography[]
Early Life[]
Alien Invasion[]
- "What happened to your leg?"
"Well, I was fighting off an alien invasion." - ―Elizabeth Bates and John Economos[src]
John Economos began working at Belle Reve Correctional Center supervising inmates and serving as Amanda Waller's assistant at A.R.G.U.S.. Economos eventually fought off an alien invasion, breaking his leg, and was hospitalized and given crutches, returning to his regular job at Belle Reve.[5]
Working in Belle Reve[]
Talking with Elizabeth Bates[]

Economos is found by Elizabeth Bates
- "You are a terrible liar."
"I'm not lying." - ―Elizabeth Bates and John Economos[src]
Following the incidents in Pokolistan caused by Circe, threatening to overthrow the Pokolistan royal family, Amanda Waller sent a task force commanded by Rick Flag, Sr. to protect Princess Rostovic, to prevent Weasel's attorney from knowing that he was sent on the mission, Economos lied to her saying that he was sick. Three days later, Economos went to a coffee machine, but was confronted by attorney Elizabeth Bates, who asked him where Weasel was, threatening to pursue Amanda Waller for refusing to let Weasel see her.

Economos argues with Elizabeth Bates
Economos again made excuses saying that Weasel was sick, which she did not believe, becoming nervous when Bates continued to question him, claiming to be telling the truth as he walked back to work, but Bates asked him about his leg, and he mentioned fighting off an alien invasion, with Bates believing that Economos was pulling her leg. They both saw Task Force M returning from their mission with Weasel on board through the window, being reprimanded by Bates.[5]
Circe's Interrogation[]

Economos, Flag Sr, and Waller interrogate Circe
- "Right, I know. Back into the hole."
"No. You're leading the team back to Pokolistan." - ―Bride of Frankenstein and John Economos[src]
Upon learning that Circe was captured by the team on their mission to Pokolistan, Economos and Rick Flag, Sr. accompanied Amanda Waller into the interrogation room, watching her being sat in her chair by the guards against her will. Waller was sarcastic to Circe by saying that she was being prosecuted for a first degree in witchie-poo and a second degree in Maleficent, prompting Economos to mention a third degree for Bette Midler in Hocus Pocus, but Waller corrected him because it was the actress' name and not the character's name. Waller continued to interrogate Circe, questioning why supervillains were always so sexy and asking Economos if he liked that, which Economos found a bit thirsty.

Economos watches Amanda Waller's encounter with Circe
Circe excused herself by claiming that she was trying to prevent a catastrophe, and Economos read through the files, telling Waller that she was possibly a clairvoyant, and that while bound she could not cast spells she could get inside her head Economos and Flag then watched Waller's encounter with Circe closely, who was traumatized by seeing a disturbing vision of multiple bloodied superheroes killed by Ilana Rostovic and her forces. Waller quickly returned to Flag and Economos, who were shocked to hear Waller claim it was legitimate. Waller then called Dr. Aisla MacPherson, who after analyzing Circe claimed that she was legitimately a clairvoyant, explaining how Themyscira confirmed this as a fact.

Economos educates Rick Flag, Sr. about Themyscira
Flag did not believe in Themyscira's existence, but Economos educated him stating they had indeed discovered that it was real, and when the Doctor claimed that it was a place for women only, Economos comically asked to be signed up, listening to her explain how Circe had predicted a tsunami that ended up happening and how she became less altruistic. Worried about the fate of the world, Waller requested to gather Task Force M again, asking Economos to contact the Pokolistan Embassy by making them believe that there was another threat.

Economos informs Task Force M about the new Pokolistan mission
Economos heard Flag arguing with Waller refusing to be part of the mission and leaving the room, so he asked what they were going to do, with Waller putting the Bride of Frankenstein as the new leader. Economos went to the food court right after Bride brutally killed Congorilla with a tray, and when she told him that she knew she had to go back to the hole, he informed her that she had actually been put in charge of Task Force M and that they had to return to Pokolistan to to kill Princess Rostovic, asking them to prepare. Economos then followed Waller's orders and contacted the Embassy, receiving permission for the team to land back in Pokolistan.[5]
Visiting Flag Sr.'s Recovery[]

Economos names several types of monsters
- "If Flag told Frankenstein where the Bride is... He could stop her from assassinating the Princess, which, according to Circe, is how World War III starts."
"Get operatives watching the local airports immediately." - ―John Economos and Amanda Waller[src]
The next day, Economos and Waller rushed to the hospital after they learned that Rick Flag, Sr. was found seriously injured, arriving when he was wheeled away to recover. Economos was shocked to see his condition and when Waller asked the nurses what happened, the doctor said not to know, stating that he broke his back and suffered serious internal damage, assuming it was caused by the monster that left him on the reception desk, prompting the duo to ask what kind of monster it was, with Economos naming several types.

Economos and Waller find Eric Frankenstein as a threat
The nurse mentioned that it was a humanoid with screws in its head, and Economos quickly acknowledged it to be Eric Frankenstein, until they were told to wait outside the room. They both deduced that Flag told Frankenstein that the Bride was in Pokolistan, motivating him to stop the Creature Commandos, so Waller ordered Economos to put operatives in all local airports and he called them while leaving the hospital.[6]
Discovering Aisla MacPherson's body[]

Economos and Waller break into Aisla MacPherson's house
- "If Circe isn't telling the truth, we're starting a war with Pokolistan for no reason."
"I know, John."
"Oh, my God, I'm out of shape." - ―John Economos and Amanda Waller[src]
When Flag briefly awoke from his coma and with his limited ability to speak was able to tell Waller was mistaken, saying MacPherson's name, Economos and Waller quickly met on the sidewalk of the MacPherson house, where Economos was concerned that Circe's vision was a lie and they were starting a war for no reason, which upset Waller because she already knew it. After Waller kicked in the door, they both saw in shock the remains of Clayface, which alerted Waller to go up the stairs, where upon going up Economos was disgusted by the smell, finding MacPherson's corpse, scaring Waller, who quickly called the Pokolistan Embassy to apologize and stop the team.[7]
New Task Force M[]

Economos introduces the new Creature Commandos lineup to Bride
- "I know Waller has a reputation as hard ass, but I think she knows how to express gratitude when it's deserved. And you really saved the day, so we converted one of the abandoned wings for you and your team."
"My team?"
"Well, you in?"
"What else do I go to do?" - ―John Economos and the Bride of Frankenstein[src]
Due to Bride's performance in preventing a disaster, Amanda Waller ordered a new lineup of Creature Commandos, and Economos was tasked with helping to select team members and coordinate missions, reshaping the non-human division to the team's greater gratitude. As he took her down the elevator, Economos mocked Rick Flag, Sr. out for allowing himself to be manipulated, but Bride resented him. However, as they walked down the hallway, Economos explained that Waller thanked her for her service, and as he used his ID to open the door, he introduced her to her new team to lead, with her signing in.[7]
