- In the comics, John Stewart was the fourth Green Lantern of Earth, after Alan Scott, Hal Jordan, and Guy Gardner. He was also a member of the Justice League.
Behind the Scenes[]
- John Stewart in the DC Universe is the first live-action incarnation of the character.
- The character was going to be featured in the cancelled Justice League: Mortal movie. Common was cast in the role before the project was scrapped.
- John Stewart and Hal Jordan were planned to costar in the cancelled DC Extended Universe film Green Lantern Corps.
- John Stewart was also meant to appear in Zack Snyder's Justice League; Wayne T. Carr had filmed a scene as the character. However Warner Bros. cut the scene due to plans for the character in another project, which has since been shelved.
- Aaron Pierre has said that he watched Justice League Unlimited when he was younger, which featured John Stewart as a primary character.[4]
