Khaji-Da, also known as The Scarab, was an ancient relic of alien biotechnology that merged with its host Jaime Reyes to become Blue Beetle before they were defeated battling the forces of Gorilla Grodd and Princess Ilana Rostovic.

Princess Ilana Rostovic, along with her Amethyst Knights, conquered Earth and transformed it into an apocalyptic wasteland. A massive conflict began between the heroes and Rostovic, but Blue Beetle died in the process. In a vision given by Circe to Amanda Waller, Waller saw Blue Beetle impaled by Princess Rostovic alongside several other superheroes.[1]
