Krypto is shown to be an extremely loyal dog, such as when he grabbed an injured Superman and took him home.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Kryptonian-Canine Physiology: Being a native of Krypton, Krypto possesses all of the same physical powers of a Kryptonian under the effects of a yellow sun, albeit proportionate to his stature as a dog.
- Nigh-Invulnerability: Like Superman, Krypto possesses a dense-molecular structure, which in conjunction to a supercharged bio-electric aura, makes him virtually impervious to physical attack. He was also able to move across frozen tundra without feeling cold.
- Superhuman Strength: Krypto is immensely strong for a dog, capable of hauling an injured Superman by his cape while trotting along the frozen tundra.
- Superhuman Speed: Krypto is able to move across tundra with incredible speed
- Superhuman Senses: Krypto, like human dogs, possess better olfactory senses than that of humans, but his are more enhanced to superhuman levels. His hearing is able to detect Superman whistling from miles away.

- In the comics, Krypto the Superdog is Superman's pet, a Kryptonian creature with incredible powers and the appearance of a dog. He has been a member of Superman Family, the Legion of Super-Pets and the Space Canine Patrol Agents.
Behind the Scenes[]
- Krypto is inspired by James Gunn’s dog Ozu, who was adopted during Superman writing. Gunn initially didn’t plan for Krypto to be in the film, but after Ozu destroyed furniture and even his computer, Gunn imagined what it would be like if Ozu had superpowers, leading him to add Krypto to the script.[3]
