Chris Smith is assaulted by A.R.G.U.S.
Chris Smith texted Emilia Harcourt needing to meet up immediately, and told her to meet him at Kupperberg Park, unaware that Harcourt was working with A.R.G.U.S. to bring Smith in. The A.R.G.U.S. team, disguised in plainclothes, stood nearby as Harcourt waited on a bench for Smith.[1] Smith had been warned beforehand that A.R.G.U.S.. agents were waiting to capture him. Smith cautiously entered from the northwest, petting some dogs, thus thwarting Judomaster's free throw. Upon reaching Harcourt, Smith snatched the microphone from her and switched places with her to prevent Jagger from firing. Harcourt, however, was annoyed with Smith for misinterpreting a warning, but Smith asked her if the encounter on the boat meant anything to her.
Emilia Harcourt knocks out Chris Smith
Harcourt coldly reprimanded Smith for having an interdimensional portal in her house, begging him to leave, but Smith insisted she tell him if the boat incident meant anything to her. Harcourt yielded to Smith's question, claiming it meant nothing because she was drunk and wished it hadn't happened, disappointing him. The A.R.G.U.S. agents suddenly surrounded Smith, but he fled, breaking Kline's arm in self-defense, which caused Jagger to accidentally shoot his ally. The officers pointed their guns at Smith, demanding he surrender, and seeing that Sasha Bordeaux was going to kill him, Harcourt ended up knocking Smith unconscious and strangling him, resulting in his capture.[2]
Behind the Scenes[]
- The name is a reference to Paul Kupperberg, writer of the 1988 four-issue Peacemaker series, from which the television series took major influences.
