Kidnapping of Peacemaker[]
Matt meets Chris Smith and his bald eagle
Matt and his wife Margaret took a trip to Alaska. During the trip, they were amazed by Eagly's presence on the plane and met the owner, Chris Smith, explaining that they were birdwatchers. Smith liked the couple and mentioned that he liked "chickens," a misogynistic connotation that bothered Ally. Suddenly, a toxic gas began to spread through the plane, startling the passengers until they fainted.[1]
Ambush on the Kidnappees[]
As the passengers began to wake up from their fainting spell, Matt and the other passengers realized they were stranded in the middle of a forest, unable to understand what had happened, with Smith helping his wife, Margaret, get up. Amidst the uncertainty, the pilot tried to calm the passengers down, but was suddenly shot in the face by an assassin, who began a shootout with the passengers. Smith ordered the passengers to take cover, with Eagly throwing the shooter from the tree, allowing Smith to hold his head and snap his neck. This left the entire crew stunned, and Matt and Margaret embraced.
The passengers realized they had been taken to the forest to be killed, and that since they weren't safe, they should seek shelter. Suddenly, a female assassin with a katana attacked Smith, but he managed to defeat her. Smith threatened to pierce the killer's stomach if she didn't confess, prompting her to reveal that she worked for the League of Assassins and that they were hunting Smith, threatening the entire crew with murder, shocking everyone.[2]

Chris Smith forced the assassin to reveal that every year, they hijacked a plane to kill its passengers for fun, frustrating Matt and his wife, who embraced, wanting to return home. However, Eagly flew towards an approaching assassin, prompting Smith to shout for everyone to duck, leaving Matt horrified to see Margaret shot in the forehead with an arrow while Smith yelled at him to duck. Eagly attempted to carry Matt to save him, only to also be pierced by three arrows in the chest.[3]
