"Maybe... there is some other way."
―Parvin Sartorius to Alex Sartorius[src]

Parvin Sartorius was the wife of Alex Sartorius before she and their son were murdered by Rupert Thorne.

History[]

Early Life[]

"My wife... She came from a country with an oppressive regime."
Alex Sartorius to Rupert Thorne[src]

Parvin was born in a country that was governed by a harsh and oppressive regime. Seeking a better future, her family eventually relocated to the United States of America. Parvin's mother later passed away due to complications with cancer.[2]

"There is no good end to this."
"There is a good end to it, babe. That's why I'm doing this. I can't continue my research without their funding. I love you. You know that?"
"That is irrelevant to what are we talking about."
"They're not good people. But a nuclear fusion treatment that destroys cancer forever without harming the patient? That's worth dealing with anyone! With a treatment like that, my father might still be alive... Your mother."
―Parvin Sartorius and Alex Sartorius[src]

In America, Parvin met and married a man named Alex Sartorius, a scientist from Gotham City. They had a son together. Later on, as Alex pursued a cure for cancer through nuclear fusion, he became entangled with the notorious crime lord Rupert Thorne. Despite Sartorius' efforts to dissuade him from working with Thorne, her pleas came to no avail. When she learnt that the results would be sent to Bialya, a country under an oppressive regime, similar to her own, she successfully persuaded Sartorius to falsify the research.[2]

"She is... was sensitive about giving nuclear secrets to another-"
"Oh, what a prince. Right guys? Throwing his dead wife under the bus."
"No, no... I just... I didn't think anyone would notice."
"The con man's excuse is "I didn't think no one would know I was conning them.""

Not long after, Thorne and his men realized that the stats and research had been purposefully falsified. Sartorius and her son would then be murdered by Thorne and his subordinates, as a brutal act of retribution for Alex's perceived betrayal and failure to follow through on their agreement.[2]
