Peacemaker is an American superhero web television series, based on the DC Comics antihero of the same name. It will be the second television series in the DC Universe starting from the second season, and the third installment of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. The series is produced by DC Studios and will be released on HBO Max.

The first season, which is set in the preceding DC Extended Universe as a standalone spin-off of The Suicide Squad, premiered on January 13, 2022, and concluded on February 17, 2022.

The second season will premiere on August 21, 2025.[2]

A non-canon prequel tie-in comic, Peacemaker Presents: The Vigilante/Eagly Double-Feature, released its first issue on March 26, 2025.

The new season follows Christopher "Chris" Smith, aka Peacemaker, the vigilante Super Hero as he struggles to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost.[3]

On February 17, 2022, the second season of Peacemaker was announced to be in development by James Gunn on Twitter.[11]

In early February 2024, James Gunn finished writing all 8 episodes.[12]

On February 8, 2024, it was revealed that Charissa Barton would return to choreograph the second season's opening title sequence.[13]

On April 13, 2024, James Gunn announced that the second season of Peacemaker began filming.[14]

On November 15, 2024, James Gunn announced that multiple members of the cast had wrapped for Season Two, revealing that Anissa Matlock, Taylor St. Clair, Dorian Kingi were part of the cast.[10]

On November 23, 2024, Jennifer Holland announced that she had wrapped for Season Two, revealing that Michael Rooker was part of the cast.[8]

On November 25, 2024, James Gunn announced that production had wrapped for Season Two, revealing that Brandon Stanley was part of the cast.[15]
