The Prevention of the Pokolistani Conquest was a mission undertaken by Task Force M to prevent Ilana Rostovic from fulfilling a future predicted by the sorceress Circe.

After attempting to invade Pokolistan and assassinate Princess Ilana Rostovic with the help of the Sons of Themyscira, Circe was defeated and put in custody by the Creature Commandos, who took her to the United States, in Belle Reve Correctional Center to be interrogated by Amanda Waller. When Waller asked Circe why she invaded Pokolistan, she told her that she was trying to kill Rostovic to save the world, showing Waller a vision where Ilana Rostovic along with Gorilla Grodd and their forces conquered the world and killed several heroes, horrifying Waller, who called Professor Aisla MacPherson to confirm the veracity of Circe's vision.

With MacPherson confirming that Circe was in fact, clairvoyant, and that her vision was genuine, Waller ordered John Economos to gather the Commandos to return to Pokolistan and assassinate Rostovic before she conquered the world. However, Rick Flag, Sr., leader of the Commandos, refused and tried to convince Waller that he knew Rostovic and that this was not her, before giving up and resigning as leader of the team, causing Waller to appoint the Bride of Frankenstein as the new team leader. Shortly after the Bride assassinated Congorilla, Economos informed her of her new role and mission before the Commandos boarded the Sheba to return to Pokolistan again.

- "I saw Clayface on the tapes. First, you seduced Flag to get him on your side. Then after we captured Circe, you suggested we kill her. That would have taken care of everything. But Flag, despite him being an old rube hung up on your charms, refused. So you sent one of your knights to spy on us. He must have seen McPherson visit Waller. Someone you'd know would back up Circe's story. So your only choice was to get your friend, Clayface, to make it look like she wasn't who she was. Even though she was who she was when she and Waller spoke."

After Circe was taken to the United States to be interrogated and concerned that she might expose her scheme, Princess Ilana Rostovic sent Sergei to spy on the task force at Belle Reve Correctional Center, who witnessed the arrival of Professor Aisla MacPherson, who confirmed Circe's clairvoyant abilities and successfully convinced Amanda Waller of Rostovic's true nature. Rostovic then hired Clayface to assassinate MacPherson, who had to make it seem as though he was hired by Circe to lead Waller into killing Rostovic. In order to further conceal her role in the scheme, Rostovic planned to trick Flag, Sr. into thinking Clayface was guiding them astray, since she expected him to suspect the MacPherson he met was a phony.
Flag, Sr. and Frankenstein Team Up[]

During the Invasion of Pokolistan, when the Bride of Frankenstein and Nina Mazursky escaped from Poko Castle to visit Frankenstein Manor, an old woman who spotted the two called Eric Frankenstein, who was in her contacts, to warn him of the Bride's return. Excited, Frankenstein boarded a helicopter along with a pilot and a lieutenant to watch for signs of the Bride at Belle Reve Correctional Center after she and the Creature Commandos returned from Pokolistan. However, upon seeing her conversing with Rick Flag, Sr., Frankenstein became jealous, believing that the Bride was in love with Flag, Sr.. After discovering Flag, Sr.'s name, Frankenstein killed the pilot and lieutenant on the helicopter after believing that the lieutenant had mocked his inability to grow hair, crashing the helicopter and writing Flag, Sr.'s name on his hand with a pen to not forget it and going in search of Flag, Sr.
Flag, Sr. threatens Frankenstein with a gun to his head
After Flag, Sr. resigned as the Commandos leader, he desperately attempted to contact Ilana Rostovic to warn her that the Commandos were on their way to kill her, but to no avail. However, upon arriving at his house, Flag, Sr. was surprised by Frankenstein, who crashed the car in which he was chasing him. into a tree, running towards Flag, Sr., quickly pushing him and destroying his house's door, grabbing Flag, Sr. and slamming him against the wall, without Flag, Sr. understanding why Frankenstein was attacking him, being thrown inside before he began to defend himself from the attack. After managing to climb on Frankenstein's back and pointing a gun at his head, Frankenstein began to cry, assuring Flag, Sr. that she did not love her, confusing him who thought he was talking about the Princess, but then realized that he was talking about the Bride, assuring Frankenstein that they weren't in love.
Flag, Sr. and Frankenstein talk and drink tea
Getting off Frankenstein's back, Flag, Sr. offered him tea, leading him to the kitchen to tell him about his history with Rostovic. Frankenstein believed his history was beautiful and that Flag, Sr. shared a beautiful love with the Princess. Flag, Sr. tried to deny that it was exactly love but Frankenstein told him that it was love, comparing them with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in Titanic. Frankenstein also compared his love with the Bride to the film When Harry Met Sally..., telling Flag, Sr. that the Bride played fetch games on him but that she knew like he did that they were destined to be together. Taking advantage of this, Flag, Sr. proposed that maybe they could help each other, making Frankenstein happy and naming Flag, Sr. as his best friend.
