The Raptors^[1] are highly advanced soldiers affiliated with PlanetWatch, a task force developed by LuthorCorp.

History[]

Guarding the Pocket Universe[]

In an effort to gain government approval for restricting the activities of metahumans like Superman, Lex Luthor developed a private force of high-tech airborne soldiers known as the Raptors. While awaiting the council’s decision, the Raptors were primarily stationed at a PlanetWatch outpost near Metropolis, tasked with guarding both the base and the Pocket Dimension where Luthor detained his enemies.

When Superman voluntarily surrendered in hopes of locating his kidnapped dog, Krypto, he was arrested by PlanetWatch and imprisoned inside the Pocket Dimension, where he was violently mistreated by several Raptor soldiers.^[2]

Infiltration into the Pocket Universe[]

In an effort to find Superman’s location, Lois Lane and Mister Terrific tracked his signal to the PlanetWatch campsite, where Terrific’s tracker had gone dark. Upon arrival, they were confronted by Raptors who gave them a final warning to leave. When the soldiers attacked, Mister Terrific used his T-Spheres to swiftly neutralize them and proceeded toward the dimensional portal.

Meanwhile, inside the Pocket Dimension, other Raptors pursued Superman, Krypto, Metamorpho, and Metamorpho’s son, Joey, as they attempted to escape. During the chase, Superman and Joey were knocked into a hazardous anti-proton river, while Metamorpho used acid to eliminate the Raptors around him. Despite being weakened by Kryptonite, Superman managed to overcome the remaining soldiers with Krypto’s help, ensuring Joey’s safety in the process.^[2]

Battle of Metropolis[]

As Metropolis faced destruction from an interdimensional rift, Lex Luthor deployed an army of Raptors to eliminate Superman during his battle with Ultraman. With assistance from Krypto, Superman unleashed his heat vision to destroy the Raptor armors, defeating the entire squadron.

Following the sealing of the rift and Luthor’s downfall, it is implied that the Raptors were subsequently arrested or dismantled, bringing an end to their operations.^[2]

Equipment[]

LuthorCorp Raptor Suit: Raptors are all trained mercenaries equipped with high-tech armored suits developed by LuthorCorp. Each suit features a forearm-mounted cannon designed to neutralize targets and enables the wearer to fly at high speeds, making them capable of engaging airborne opponents like Superman. While the armor is highly durable, it is not fully resistant to Superman’s heat vision, which can inflict significant damage upon impact.

Facilities[]

LuthorCorp Pocket Universe: The Raptors mostly operate as part of the security of PlanetWatch campside at the entrance of the Pocket Universe, and inside the dimension itself where they act as jailers and guards assuring none prisoners escape.
