is the prison."

Salvation is a planet within an alternate universe used by A.R.G.U.S. as a prison for dangerous metahumans to prevent their return to Earth. After discovering its existence through the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, Rick Flag, Sr. imprisoned Chris Smith as a test subject to avenge his son.

In June 2025, the government agency known as A.R.G.U.S. arrested Christopher Smith, who was in possession of a dimensional portal. After confiscating the device A.R.G.U.S. agents searched for inhabitable universes through the Quantum Unfolding Chamber under the orders of Director Rick Flag Sr. Eventually agents Emilia Harcourt, Sasha Bordeaux, and Angler stumbled upon Salvation's door. They entered and, after taking atmospheric readings and confirming that it was safe to do so, removed their suits' helmets. Harcourt compiled a report on her findings and delivered it to Director Flag and the LuthorCorp technicians.

Flag reviewed the findings and excitedly announced that Salvation was just what he was looking for. Flag quickly called a meeting with Secretary of Defense General Stephen Mori at the Pentagon to propose his plan for Salvation, which would be used as a prison for metahumans. Although General Mori hesitated, he ultimately gave his approval to move forward with the project.[1]

With approval to move forward with using Salvation as a prison, Rick Flag, Sr. forged Chris Smith's signature on the paperwork declaring his consent to use him as a volunteer to test Salvation's effect on the human body. He sent A.R.G.U.S. agents to kidnap Smith and bring him before him. Agents Vega and Angler took Smith through the portal to Salvation and removed his handcuffs. Flag revealed to Smith his motivation of revenge for his son's death before ordering technician Sydney Happersen to close the portal and abandon Smith. Before the portal was closed, Smith attempted to jump through the portal back to Earth-1, but was too late and fell to the ground. He got up to look around, hearing a monstrous roar coming from the surrounding area.[1]
