"So, this is where the magic happens, huh?"
Rupert Thorne[src]

Sartorius Labs was the workplace of Alex Sartorius while he was researching how to cure cancer using nuclear fussion.

History[]

Research[]

"I didn't think anyone would notice."
Alex Sartorius to Rupert Thorne[src]

Alex Sartorius became a renowned nuclear scientist and opened his own scientific company, Sartorius Labs. After marrying Parvin and having a son, Sartorius began work on a nuclear experiment that would reverse cancer without harming the patient, but lacking funding, he was forced to make a deal with mobster Rupert Thorne, agreeing to give the results of the experiment to Bialya's scientists in exchange for his money. The deal worried Parvin, who confronted her husband about the deal for having to deliver results to an oppressive regime, questioning if there was any other way, which led Sartorius to decide to submit false results.

However, Rupert Thorne was informed by Bialya's scientists about the deception, so Thorne and his gang brutally murdered Parvin and his son as punishment. Upon returning home, Sartorius watched in horror as his family was murdered, collapsing in tears as Thorne and his gang taunted him. Sartorius was then kidnapped by Thorne and taken to a van to be personally punished in his own laboratory, and despite his attempt to flee, he was recaptured.[1]

Brutal Transformation[]

"It's the age-old story of the nuclear scientist who goes crazy, murders his family and then commits su1c1de by atomizing himself... with nuclear energy."

Upon arriving at the Lab, Sartorius was forced to allow Rupert Thorne and his gang to enter and investigate, and when Sartorius questioned the motive for his actions, Sartorius realized that Thorne had discovered the false results. Although he tried to deny his deception, Thorne became angry with him and reprimanded him for reneging on his agreement, but they were then interrupted when a henchman discovered Sartorius' true figures, which caused Sartorius to reveal that Parvin convinced him to send them false results, stating that he thought no one would notice the false figures, prompting Thorne to mock him.

Thorne then ordered his henchmen to place him in his nuclear chamber, carrying Sartorius against his will. Despite his efforts to break free, Sartorius was locked in his own invention, screaming to be released, while Thorne mockingly related that he would frame Sartorius for the murder of his family and “commit suicide” by atomizing himself in his own nuclear chamber, which the henchman ignited, as the nuclear power was turned on. Inside the chamber, Sartorius' skin began to incinerate, causing him agony, turning him into a skeleton until he was finally consumed by the nuclear process and left for dead by the gang.

However, when they retreated, Alex Sartorius managed to survive, being transformed into a metahuman as a radioactive skeleton, emerging from the machine to leave his laboratories by incinerating the door, as he let out a maniacal laugh at his new power and walked the streets seeking revenge against Thorne.[1]
