The Search for the Creature Commandos was an attempt by the Amethyst Knights to locate the Creature Commandos.

Believing Circe's vision, which depicted Ilana Rostovic as a genocidal warmonger intent on conquering Earth, Amanda Waller dispatched Task Force M back to Pokolistan to assassinate the princess. Meanwhile, Rick Flag, Sr., refusing to accept Ilana's alleged guilt, managed to warn her by phone just as the Creature Commandos were being escorted in a convoy to the castle. After an ambush that resulted in the deaths of numerous Pokolistani armed forces and the Commandos' escape, Ilana ordered Sergei and her Knights to pursue and eliminate the mercenaries.[2]

Amid the chaos of the ambush, the Creature Commandos split up, forcing each member to find their own way through the suburbs while evading the authorities. Doctor Phosphorus hid inside a trash bin until nightfall, using the cover of darkness to slip away and seek refuge in a local family’s home. There, he reflected on his traumatic past while unexpectedly befriending the family's young daughter. Though initially considering eliminating her to keep his presence secret, Phosphorus instead spent the evening playing with her until her parents awoke. Shocked by the intruder, the couple reluctantly provided him with directions to the castle.
Elsewhere, Nina, lost in the city streets, reunited with Bride. The two took shelter inside the Can-Can, a local brothel, where Bride threatened the madam, Gyurov, into letting them stay until it was safe to leave. During their stay, following a heated argument with Gyurov, Bride and Nina intervened when a metahuman client violently assaulted one of the workers. After a brutal fight that left the patron and his brother dead, the women departed, not before the rescued worker thanked them for their help.
Meanwhile, Weasel escaped into the nearby woods, where he befriended a pack of wolves, spending the night playing in the fields. After dreaming that Princess Rostovic was the same girl he had failed to save during the Sunnyhill School tragedy, Weasel left the pack and made his way toward the castle.
Eventually, the Commandos reunited on their respective paths to Poko Castle, ready to continue their mission.[3]
Aftermath[]
The Pokolistani authorities ultimately failed in their search for the Creature Commandos, who successfully regrouped and infiltrated Poko Castle, breaking into Princess Ilana Rostovic’s private garden. Tasked with the assassination, they sent Nina to kill Ilana underwater while she was swimming. However, the attempt was thwarted by Weasel’s interference, leading to Nina’s death at the hands of the princess.
Meanwhile, Amanda Waller, believing the mission might have been a mistake and mislead coming from Circe, contacted Bride only minutes after Nina’s death to clear the situation with Rostovic.
Before leaving Pokolistan, Bride uncovered Ilana’s true scheme, confirming Circe’s vision of the princess’s dangerous ambitions. Bride executed Ilana, putting an end to the threat she represented and avenging Nina.[4]
