The Sons of Themyscira is a right-wing group founded in opposition to the nature of Themyscira only allowing women. They were mobilized by Circe, who promised to take them to the island in exchange for helping deposing Princess Ilana Rostovic.

Circe Gas Station Attack

Circe and the Sons of Themyscira invade Pokolistan

"The battalion, calling themselves the Sons of Themyscira, violently crossed the border into Pokolistan. The Sons are said to be working at the behest of the rogue Amazonian and reputed sorceress, Circe."
―Reporter[src]

Some time after being recruited by Circe, the Sons of Themyscira crossed the border with Pokolistan and attacked a nearby gas station. They are interviewed by GBS News reporters about their motivations. Tanner and CRITICALSCEPTICFACTSOVERFEELINGS_91 justified their goal to reach Themyscira that the idea of an island only inhabited by women was "woke" and "sexist".[1]

Upon the arrival of Task Force M in Pokolistan, an undercover Tanner alongside a fellow Son reported the information to Circe. Later at night, they follow the Bride and Nina Mazursky to Frankenstein Manor before alerting the rest of the mercenaries.[1]

Attack on Frankenstein Manor[]

Shortly after retrieving the Tourmaline necklace, the Bride and Nina are attacked by Circe and the Sons of Themyscira who launch an assault on the manor. Thanks to her brute strength and using different furnitures inside the mansion, the Bride successfully fought back and defeated the first wave of opponents, before engaging Circe herself in a brawl. Taking this opportunity to escape, Nina attempted to join by radio Rick Flag Sr. before being spotted and hunted by the Sons through the woods.

Upon arriving back at the manor, Nina was distracted by the sight of the Bride falling from the balcony. Tanner took this chance to shoot at and to break her helmet, rendering her unable to breath. After knocking both of them out, the Sons of Themyscira tied the Bride in the hall and trapped Nina in a bathtube, before heading to the now defenseless castle.[2]

Battle at Poko Castle[]

While the rest of Task Force M and Alexis were distracted saving the Bride and Mazursky, the Sons of Themyscira led by Circe successfully broke inside the Poko Castle and slaughtered numerous guards. Princess Ilana attempted to escape before being spotted by some of the mercenaries, Tanner included. Task Force M arrived in the middle of the battle and joined the fight.

Phosphorus gruesomely incinerated one of the Sons, while Rick Flag, the Bride, and the Weasel shot and mauled the rest of foes. They unfortunately found themselves outnumbered forcing G.I. Robot to join and turn the tide in their favor by gunning down most of the Sons. Following the shootout and Circe's defeat, it is unknown what happened to the surviving Sons of Themyscira, but it can be implied they either fled or got arrested.[3]

Trivia[]

  • In the comics, the Sons of Themyscira were initially the male children abandoned at birth by the Amazons. The Greek god Hephaestus made a deal with them, allowing them to stay with him and work in his forge in exchange for weapons. In later continuity, they were revealed to be a mere illusion.
  • In Creature Commandos, the Sons of Themyscira instead resemble a caricature of the stereotypical Donald Trump supporter in contemporary real-world America. One member prominently sports headgear that resembles the "Make America Great Again" red baseball caps commonly worn by Trump supporters, but with the words changed to "SofT" as an initialism of the organization.
    • Furthermore, it also made satirical references to Men's Right Activist and online right-wing circles, which often fall into similar political spectrum as the above mentioned reference. Many of members have talking points on "woke" as pejorative term with online handle of CRITICALSCEPTICFACTSOVERFEELINGS_91 being a reference to Ben Sharpiro's "facts don't care about your feelings".
