The Iron Pot is the fifth episode of the first season of Creature Commandos. The episode was written by James Gunn, and it released on Max on December 26, 2024.
Synopsis[]
Frankenstein is nursed to health by a new friend. Later, Flag and Frankenstein team up to disprove Circe's visions about the Princess.
Plot[]

Eric Frankenstein is found on the banks of a river by Bogdana and Ivan
In a flashback, shortly after killing his creator and clashing with Bride, Eric Frankenstein escapes the burning manor and collapses unconscious into a river, carried away by the current. He is discovered by Ivan, a dog and his owner, Bogdana, a blind and elderly hermit gypsy, who nurses him back to health. Despite Frankenstein’s tough and stern demeanor, Bogdana befriends him, sharing her appreciation for life despite her blindness.

Rick Flag, Sr. and Frankenstein discover the real Aisla MacPherson's corpse
In the present, determined to prove Circe’s apocalyptic vision wrong, Rick Flag, Sr. forms an alliance with Eric Frankenstein. Together, they travel to Terrebonne University to spy on Aisla MacPherson. While observing her class, they notice her bizarre and unprofessional behavior, including inappropriate remarks, which confirm Flag’s suspicions. To uncover more, they infiltrate the professor’s house, only to stumble upon her dead body in the office. Realizing the "Aisla MacPherson" they encountered at Belle Reve is an impostor, Flag deduces Circe's deception. In a state of urgency, he calls Ilana Rostovic to warn her that the Creature Commandos, now misled, have been sent to kill her.

Doctor Phosphorus passes through a tank while flipping the birds
In Pokolistan, the Creature Commandos land and are met by Alexi, who is surprised by their unexpected return. They justify their presence as a mission to protect Princess Rostovic from a "second threat." However, during the journey to the castle, Alexi receives a call from the royal estate revealing the Commandos' true mission. Betraying them, he drives them to an ambush in a remote part of town. During the ensuing confrontation, Alexi is killed by Doctor Phosphorus, sparking a violent battle between the Creature Commandos and the Pokolistani military. While the Bride and Phosphorus fight their way through the enemy forces, Nina Mazursky and Weasel quietly slip away.

Flag, Sr. and Clayface are severely injured after the fight
Back at MacPherson’s house, the impostor reveals himself to be Clayface, a dangerous and sadistic metahuman shapeshifter. As Flag and Frankenstein attempt to leave unnoticed, Clayface attacks. Using his shape-shifting powers and immense strength, Clayface savagely beats Flag and attempts to smother Frankenstein in his goo-like body. In a desperate move, Frankenstein electrifies himself and Clayface, ending the fight. Before losing consciousness, Flag begs Frankenstein to fly to Pokolistan to warn Bride and the Commandos about the truth behind their mission. At Poko Castle, Princess Ilana is informed of the Commandos’ escape and orders their immediate capture and execution.

Frankenstein murders Bogdana by hitting her head with an iron pot
In the past, despite Bogdana’s pleas for him to stay, Frankenstein resolves to search for the Bride, misinterpreting her rejection as a "game." In his warped sense of logic, he believes he is doing Bogdana a favor by "sparing her loneliness." He murders Bogdana by hitting her head with an iron pot and leaves with Ivan, determined to track down the Bride.
