- The area of present-day Metropolis is settled by Dutch settlers led by Paul De Vries and is named De Vries Village.

- - De Vries Village is renamed as Metropolis.

- - P. Randall Jeffries opened the First Metropolitan Bank and kept the bank running, allowing it to continue to operate into the twenty-first century.
Mid-1800s[]
- - The Hob's Bay Area in Metropolis saw an influx in Irish immigrants which occurred simultaneously with the area's growth as a merchant center. Tensions began to rise between the immigrants and the city's second-generation residents, leading to a series of riots that became known as the Hob's Bay Riots.

- - Victor Frankenstein creates The Bride as a wife for Eric Frankenstein.
- - Victor and The Bride fall in love as he teaches her. Eric kills Victor in a bout of jealousy. Seeing this, The Bride attacks him, then flees.

- - Frankenstein finds The Bride at a market stall and tries to give her a flower. She slaps him with a fish, leading to a fight.
