History[]
World War II[]
Ambush on Easy Company[]
After the United States entered the war in 1941, the Armed Forces deployed several units to fight Nazi Germany in occupied European countries, including Easy Company, led by Sgt. Rock, and as reinforcement against the Nazis, top American scientists built an advanced war machine called G.I. Robot to aid the army in 1943, which was assigned to the unit under the command of Sgt. Franklin Rock.

The Easy Company celebrating their victory
G.I. Robot, in his first action with the team, accompanied the unit for a night as they carefully advanced through a dark jungle, until Little Sure Shot, on a nearby hill, alerted them to the silent presence of Nazis around them. Easy Company bravely resisted the attack. During the battle, G.I. Robot launched his stilts and opened fire on the Nazis, astonishing his fellow soldiers. The Company then headed to a bar to celebrate their victory, cheering G.I. Robot for saving them. In the following missions, G.I. Robot killed over 1000 Nazis and forged a friendly bond with his comrades before the culmination of the war.[1]

- ―Rick Flag, Sr. to Ilana Rostovic[src]
In order to financially support his family, Rick Flag, Sr. enlisted in the United States Armed Forces, eventually rising to the rank of general and meeting the head of A.R.G.U.S., Amanda Waller.[2] On one of his missions with the Navy in the Persian Gulf, Flag was wounded and scarred,[3] and also engaged in a fight with a pilot in Jarhanpur.[4] Flag Jr., inspired by his father, enlisted in the military out of his deep love for the United States.[2]
