- "Mexicali, you scan for any anomalies throughout that house."
- ―Langston Fleury to Vega[src]
Vega is an agent of A.R.G.U.S. dispatched to infiltrate Peacemaker's house alongside a group of agents. He was charged to measure any trace of non-terrestrial energy but ended up being attacked and injured by Eagly before completing his analysis. Vega and the other agents were subsequently sent to explore multiple dimensions from the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, exposing them to multiple life-threatening risks, until they found Salvation.

Hunt for Peacemaker[]
Infiltration into Chris Smith's House[]
Vega prepares for the infiltration
- "What matters is the dimensional discrepancy Vega picked up in the house. After the Metropolis Incident took out half the city, these type of threats are A.R.G.U.S.'s top priority."
- ―Sasha Bordeaux to John Economos[src]
In preparation of infiltrating Chris Smith's house, Vega assembled and programmed an A.R.G.U.S. device capable of analyzing any trace of non-terrestrial energy. He later joined his superior, Langston Fleury, in an A.R.G.U.S. truck parked next to Smith's residence along with the rest of the squad. They were waiting for the target to leave for a gathering with his friends. When Fleury suggested waiting for a few more minutes-speculating that Smith might return for a gift-Vega contradicted him, pointing out that "housewarming gifts" are used for housewarming only.
Vega, Kline and Langston Fleury enter Chris Smith's House
Once Fleury finished briefing the team and assigned them codenames, the squad proceeded to infiltrate the house. While inside, Vega scanned the premises for signs of non-terrestrial energy, His readings detected a dimensional discrepancy from behind a door-the entrance to the quantum unfolding chamber. Before he could open it, he was violently attacked by Eagly, who broke his scanning device during the assault. Due to the severity of his injuries, Vega was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.[1] Following the failed infiltration, Vega reported finding an interdimensional discrepancy at Chris Smith's House, forcing the investigation to reveal its true priority.[3]
Attack on Chris Smith's House[]
- "Bordeaux sent me out here to help."
"Yeah, I don't need help. I just... need this thing, okay?" - ―Vega and John Economos[src]
Despite the entire infiltration unit being hospitalized after Eagly's brutal defense, A.R.G.U.S. escalated the situation, planning a full-scale assault on the residence the next day.[3] Vega led a patrol, maintaining contact with Sasha Bordeaux under the code names Lion and Claws. On the way, Bordeaux notified Vega via comlink that they would arrive in a few minutes, and upon arrival, Bordeaux informed her that they were in position. Upon entering the residence to confiscate the closet door, Bordeaux sent John Economos to retrieve his mobile unit to hack the lock, asking Vega to assist him. However, when Vega arrived, Economos claimed he didn't need her.
Economos, however, began to obstruct the operation, making up excuses for not hacking the lock. But under pressure from everyone, he finally hacked it, only to discover that behind the door was just a closet and that Smith had stolen the interdimensional device. Later, Vega, Fleury, and the other agents escorted Rick Flag Sr. out of Emilia Harcourt's Apartment, as Flag wanted to recruit her again to help capture Peacemaker. Since Flag didn't trust Economos, he ordered Vega and Kline to take his phone and monitor him. Flag insisted she accompany him, and Harcourt agreed, saying she would meet Smith at Kupperberg Park to distract him while they captured him.[2]
Capture of Peacemaker[]
Using Emilia Harcourt as a decoy, Vega infiltrated Kupperberg Park with Langston Fleury. While Smith was talking to Harcourt, Vega and Fleury were ordered to enter and warn him to put his hands on his head, but Smith fled, causing Kline to accidentally get hit by a Judomaster dart, which Smith used to defend himself. Vega and the other agents then targeted Smith, demanding he surrender, and Harcourt ended up knocking Smith unconscious.[4]
Searching for Salvation[]
Following Peacemaker's arrest and the confiscation of the interdimensional device, A.R.G.U.S. partnered with LuthorCorp technicians to begin a campaign to find an uninhabited dimension capable of supporting Earth-like life. Agents, including Vega, were sent to investigate through the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, wearing protective suits to explore the unknown conditions of different universes.
While walking, Vega overheard Langston Fleury talking about an embarrassing moment involving Kline. Once they found the door to Candyland, Kline, Harcourt, and Fleury cautiously entered. However, the agents were suddenly attacked by a horde of hungry imps, who cornered them and tried to kill them. Vega and the others, from the hold, pulled up the rope to rescue them, but one of the imps cut the rope and slammed the door shut. Opening it and helping their companions escape, they trampled the remaining imps. However, the imps were able to disfigure and mutilate Kline, to everyone's horror.
Despite Kline's gruesome murder, Vega and the others continued to be blindly sent into unknown universes, encountering the Kyphotic Alien in the QUC, and then opening a portal to a black hole that nearly swallowed them whole. They managed to escape and close the door. When the agents were sent to explore a Zombie Universe, one of their companions became zombified, and Vega shot him. After extensive research, the agents discovered Salvation, which could sustain human life.[5]
Kidnapping of Chris Smith[]
With the discovery of Salvation, Rick Flag, Sr. revealed his intention to imprison the metahumans on the planet due to their dangerousness, so they could never return. While working in the A.R.G.U.S. Warehouse, John Economos tried to chat up Sydney Happersen by asking if he'd seen the game the night before, but Vega pointed out there hadn't been a game. Economos continued talking, leading to an awkward conversation that confused them.
Vega and Angler escorting Chris Smith
Still harboring resentment toward Peacemaker, Flag forged a signature to make it appear as though Peacemaker had volunteered to remain on the planet and test the living conditions, ordering his abduction. Vega, along with other agents, abducted Smith from his motel and took him to the A.R.G.U.S. Warehouse, escorting him to force him onto the planet. Vega and Angler unhandcuffed Smith on Salvation and watched as Flag informed Smith of his imprisonment. As the portal closed, Vega left with the rest of the team.[5]
Abilities[]
- Expert Marksman: Vega is proficient with firearms; shooting from close range a zombie from an alternate dimension.
- Expert Engineer: Vega has an expertise in programing, assembling, and using advanced A.R.G.U.S. devices such as a non-terrestrial energy scanner. During the Infiltration into Chris Smith's House, he used his skills to find any trace of quantum energy.
Equipment[]
Weapons[]
- Glock: On field operations, Vega carries a handgun, like most A.R.G.U.S. agents, to apprehend or to eliminate threats. When visiting the different dimensions the QUC gave access to, he shot a zombie in the head with this weapon.
Other Equipment[]
- Non-Terrestrial Energy Scanner: When infiltrating Chris Smith's house, Vega used this A.R.G.U.S. device to find any trace of a dimensional portal. The device was destroyed in the skirmish with Eagly.
