Meeting G.I. Robot[]

G.I. Robot meets Will Magnus

Magnus talks with G.I. Robot

"I don't know who any of those people are. But you, you are going to help me a great deal.
To murder Nazis?
No, but studying you will help me create the next wave of automatons."
―Will Magnus and G.I. Robot[src]

In the 1960s, Will Magnus, along General King, attended a television publicity tour guesting G.I. Robot. Witnessing the automaton's paranoid behavior to spot any Nazi in the room, the general explained to Magnus that the robot was never designed to attend this kind of event. The scientist responded he prefered to use the term A.I. and expressed his fascination for the machine's advanced program. Having no use of it since the end of World War II, the army gave G.I. to Magnus for his experiments.

Will Magnus' plans to create new automatons

G.I. Robot was disassembled and was reactivated in Will Magnus' workshop. The robotist explained he would reassemble him soon, as well as promising improvements. G.I. wondered if the man was a Nazi or if there were any nearby, to which he sighed disappointed when he learned the opposite. Magnus asked him what would be his wish if he theorically had no directive. G.I. answered him he would like to reunite wih his comrades from the Easy Company, mentioning the names of each of them which Magnus did not recognize. The scientist explains then how stydying G.I. would help him to create the next generation of automatons.[1]

Personality[]

"As you can see, the robot's personality wasn't exactly built for these kinds of publicity tours.
AI system.
What?
It's a term I prefer over "robot.""
―General King and Will Magnus[src]

Will Magnus is a serious and attentive man whose main interest in life is his fascination with robotic. He has a great respect regarding automatons and other mechanically advanced beings, prefering to ackowledge them as "AIs" instead of "robots".

Despite mostly using G.I. Robot as a test subject for his research, he values and tends to respect the WWII mechanic veteran. For example, he promised him to give him upgrades after helping him. He seemed interested about what G.I. would "want" instead of obeing blindly to his programming.

Abilities[]

  • Master Roboticist: Will Magnus is a genius in robotics, having been always fascinated by the AI and the mechanic behind an android's mind. During his studies over G.I.
